What kind of food and drink
is usually served at a wedding reception party?
This may well depend on budget, location, the time of day or
year, and whether the wedding reception is to be an informal
or formal party. However food for a wedding reception can be
anything from finger food served at a buffet, cocktail party
and afternoon tea, or deliciously sweet desserts served at the
currently popular dessert receptions, to a formal sit down menu.
As for the drink champagne or sparkling white wine has long
been the traditional wedding celebration drink and this along
with a selection of other alcohol drinks - or perhaps a fun
signature cocktail - are usually served; plus mineral water,
soft drinks, tea and coffee. Having said this, a wedding reception
where no alcohol is served - especially if the party is held
during the day – is not unusual. |
